Consult 5 uses a core team of independent consultants who work together and build unique specialist teams for each project. The core Consult 5 team members each have 15 to 30 years of experience. The experience that brings our clients cost effective project success.

Mark Vendrig

MSc. in environmental chemistry, is a director of Consult 5. Mark has been involved in the energy, mining and oil and gas industries for 20 years and has worked in operations and in several multinational consultancies.

Mark specialises in:

Environmental impact assessment
Public consultation
Corporate responsibility and management systems
Strategy and policy development
Climate change advisory and carbon capture and storage
Risk assessment.

Paul Cox

Principal Socio-economist with 30 years of experience in the energy and mining sectors. Paul has a Ph.D. in Development - economics, sociology and political science. Most of his projects have been as part of larger consultancies and more recently independently for Canadian and international mining companies preparing environmental and social impact assessments.

Paul specialises in:

Socio-economic baseline studies and impact assessment
Stakeholder engagement and public consultation
Coordination of human environment impact assessment studies
The Equator Principles and other international best practice standards
Socio-economic management plans, monitoring and evaluation.

Diana Sollner

Principal Consultant, holding an M.A.Sc. in mining and mineral process engineering. Diana has worked in the mining industry for 18 years advising companies on how to solve their environmental challenges.

Water quality prediction
Waste and water management planning

Bob Plummer

Principal GIS Consultant, holding a B.Sc. in Geology and a Diploma in GIS, with more than 25 years experience in GIS, cartography and geology. Bob uses GIS in a wide range of projects from EIA's through to mineral exploration and mine development.

Bob specialises in:

GIS mapping and cartography
Data compilations
3D visualisations
Database development and maintenance.

Glen Carlson

Principal Biological Consultant, holding a BSc. Zoology and a Diploma in Fish, Wildlife and Recreation. Glen has over 30 years of biological experience ranging from freshwater and marine habitats to a variety of terrestrial ecosystems working with BC Environment, Fisheries and Oceans Canada and A Rocha Canada (NGO).

Glen specialises in:

Environmental assessment, advising and monitoring
Biological assessments and surveys
Understanding of Canadian Environmental Regulations
Aquatic and terrestrial habitat assessment and restoration
Invasive plants management.
